Traditions Across Borders
Sharing cultural features and traditions, transmitting them through learning help us to shape behaviour and belief. Traditions of different nations show the fact that we are so different from and so similar to each other at the same time. Understanding of other nations' cultures builds a bridge among the participants and teaches them to respect each other.
As we live in the European Union it is important to know each other’s culture. There are so many different traditions, habits, national holidays, nature reserves giving a wide range of colourful events and beautiful places in European countries. It is our great responsibility to preserve traditions, protect national parks and transmit this treasure to the next generations. The youngsters will be able to become real European citizens if they improve their own intercultural competences through learning features of other cultures.
Seven countries’ seven schools from Hungary, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Sweden and Turkey made a mutual agreement in order to contribute and fulfil the goals of this project. The countries represent different parts and cultures of Europe, ensuring the diversity of the project.
